Fabric (outer): Wool-cashmere melton (color: Burnt Umber) from The Fabric Store

Fabric (lining): black Kasha satin from Vogue Fabrics

Mods: I tweaked the pocket placement and the length by following the mods Martha Porter shared about her polka dot Yates coat on her blog—raising the pockets by 2 inches and lengthening the bottom pieces by 6 inches, resulting in a coat that’s 4 inches longer overall. I also shortened the sleeves length by 2 inches, did a 1-inch full bicep adjustment, and sewed the sleeves and sleeve linings with a 1/4 in. seam allowance to give it a little extra room for layering.
