Quilted Vest

Pattern: Tamarack Jacket by Grainline Studio (HEAVILY hacked, see mods below)

Size: 12

Fabric: miscellaneous linen scraps leftover from other sewing projects, plus scrap quilt batting

Notes: This vest is fully reversible! For one side, I pieced the scrap fabrics together in a checkerboard squares pattern, and the other is improv-pieced.

Mods: Cropped the body to hit around my hip bones; straightened the side seams; lowered the armscye by 1 inch at the bottom on front and back pieces; took about 1 1/2 inches off the outer edge of the shoulders to bring them in; chopped about 2 inches off each front piece since I wasn’t planning to add closures (so no need for pieces to overlap); reshaped the fronts for a sloping V-neck

Body measurements: bust 37 inches, waist 31 inches, hip 43 inches

Height: 5 feet 7 inches
